Venue Hire

The Marino Hall is a very accessible and cost effective venue. It has five spaces available for hire by the community: the Main Hall, East Hall,West Hall (Main Hall divided in two), the Activity Room, Gallery and Meeting Room.

Bookings are made via our portal on Skedda. Here’s a helpful guide on how to book with Skedda. Once you have booked and paid you will receive an email notification.

The hire rates below are for casual and regular users. Regular users are defined as hiring a space once per week for 6-12 months. The minimum Hire for casual users is 3hrs unless otherwise agreed. Trial periods are by arrangement.

Main Hall

A Main Hall can accommodate up to 250 people with blackout, lighting and sound options. It can be acoustically divided into two independent spaces for 125 people- the West Hall and East Hall, for smaller functions.The East Hall features a stage area with options for lighting and sound installation, a 4K projector and dropdown screen.The Western part features an AV facility, large windows with sea views and balcony access. Hanging rails are integrated into the walls for hanging display materials.

Gallery

Opportunities are available, for artists and small groups in the local and wider community, to hire the Marino Community Hall gallery spaces, the Small Gallery and/or Gallery Concourse. Visit the Gallery Hire for Exhibitions page for further information.

Activity Room

A medium sized space with AV facility and an adjoining outside courtyard area. Suitable for small group activities and classes.

Meeting Room

A smaller room that accommodates up to 12 people with AV facilities and whiteboard for smaller group meetings and presentations.

Kitchen

There is a partial commercial kitchen available for use in conjunction with the venue hire. See Hire package for details.

Venue Hire Notes

City of Marion residents
Residents who live in the City of Marion may apply for a discount on the booking fee by contacting 5049marinohall@gmail.com. You will need to provide proof of residency.

Community Groups
Community groups may be eligible for a discount or sponsored use by application via email 5049marinohall@gmail.com.

Alcohol
Alcohol can not be consumed at the Marino Community Hall without first seeking approval from the Management Committee - email 5049marinohall@gmail.com. There are 2 options

  • Little Nest holds the licence for the Cafe/Concourse and Hall. If you engage Little Nest for the catering, including service of alcohol for your event, then you don't need a temporary licence. See Nest Kiosk website for details.
  • If you do not engage Little Nest for your event and if alcohol is to be provided for sale or BYO then you must seek approval from the Management Committee via email before applying for a short term Class 1 liquor licence 10 days prior to the event.The Management Committee will provide you with the relevant documentation for your application.

In option 2 your licence application must be completed online. To apply for a license go to Govt SA short term liquor licence what you need. It takes 7 days for approval. Please provide a copy of the approval to the Management Committee before the event.

Hours
The venues are available for hire between 8am and 11pm. Note the building is to be closed by 11pm to meet local regulations.

Cafe
The Little Nest cafe is expertly run by a professional catering team. The cafe and hence the building is open 7 days a week. Weekdays 7am -12pm, Saturdays 8am -2pm and Sundays 8am-2pm only when there is an event eg Little Marino Market . They have a licence and offer catering packages to hirers by arrangement. For details please go to the Nest Kiosk website. They are very committed to supporting the Hall.

Insurances
All regular hirers are required to have their own Public Liability Insurance minimum $20M and provide a Certificate of Currency as a condition of hiring the space 7 days prior to the hire. Casual Hirers to provide evidence of their own Public Liability Insurance or purchase a temporary insurance for their event with their booking at $30.

Birthday Parties
No 18th or 21st birthday parties as the Hall is in a residential area with an 11pm curfew.

Minimum Hire
There is a minimum hire of 3 hours for casual hirers of the main halls and activity room. Meeting Room hire min 2 hr. Gallery spaces min hire 2 weeks.​

Cleaning Fees
Cleaning and damage fees may apply if the space is not left in good condition
